Firstly, thanks to all those who made suggestions on the possible theme of the next anthology. We've taken a look through all of them and come up with three favourites to leave open to public vote.
Voting closes next Monday, so don't miss out on your chance to have your say!
The Phoenix Has Landed
Sometimes, these titles write themselves.
Hello there, I'm Michael Moreci, the U.S. wing of the Sleepless Phoenix collective. I'm a little behind my partners in the U.K. who received their order last week and were able to debut it at BICS. I'm jealous that I missed out on all the fun, but I do have some plans of my own.
In fact, I will by debuting the book later today, Saturday, from 3-5 PM, CST, at G-Mart in Chicago (my hometown). So if you are anywhere even near the area, come on down.
In addition to that, next week I'll be having my own convention launch next weekend at the Detroit Fanfare. I'll be at table 87, alongside my friend Onrie Kompan, the self-publisher of Yi Soon Shin, and Stan Lee! (Well, Stan Lee will be in the building, so it's kind of alongside...)
These are all more steps in the continuous effort to keep growing the incredible momentum that has surrounded the anthology, and has since day one. The book sold far more than we expected on Kickstarter, it performed excellently at BICS, and I already have people who have contacted me about getting their copies in Detroit. We hope to continue to grow in the coming months and give talented, up-and-coming comics creators a place to showcase their work.
The Sleepless Phoenix staff will be coming up with new and exciting strategies over the coming months--including the next anthology and a new charitable organization to donate to--and will share the news on this site.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far--with any luck (and a lot of hard work) this will only be the beginning.

Posting and Packing!
After a mammoth session of writing out addresses, sealing envelopes, and putting a lot of faith in the abilities of the Royal Mail (mistake I know), Survival Stories is packaged and ready to go! All those waiting to receive their pre-ordered copy, you wont have to wait too much longer!
If there are any sad people out there who missed there chance to purchase their copy through pre-orders or BICS, keep checking back here, we'll have an online store up and running soon :D
Survival
"A collaborative work by former Insomnia Publications creators, Survival Stories has been published to showcase new talent and support The Comic Book Alliance in their endeavours.
On July 17th 2010, Insomnia creators learned via Internet news sites and each other that Insomnia Publications had filed with Companies House to cease trading on June 30th. No word had been heard from the publisher and they were no longer responding to any form of contact.
In the days that followed, Insomnia creators banded together and decided to approach The Comic Book Alliance for advice and representation. Our aim, to lobby for the release of creator owned projects that were still under contract with the publisher.
Our hope is that this anthology will help to raise awareness and money to support the CBA in settling disputes in the British comic industry. All proceeds from this anthology will be donated to the CBA to help our cause and support others in similar situations, now and in the future."

Survival Stories, the first anthology from the Sleepless Phoenix, was launched on the 16th of October 2010 at the British International Comic Show. It was incredibly well received, with around 250 pre-orders and 100 copies being shifted at the show. So many publishers and distributors took an interest in the anthology and I'll be keeping everyone up to date on this as more develops.
Following the release of Survival Stories, we will be discussing themes for the next anthology, along with other charities that could use our help :)
